Civil / Geotechnical / Geo-Structural Engineers
GEI is currently seeking Civil, geotechnical, and geo-structural engineers for the Sacramento Office with responsibilities including engineering and construction efforts relating to dams, levees, canals, pipelines and other flood control projects primarily in the Western United States and Hawaii.
Candidates will manage various water resources engineering tasks, including the preparation of technical memos, reports, construction specifications and other written contract documentation, the preparation of design drawings using CADD, preparation of cost estimates, schedules, construction documents, as well as monitoring construction activities in the field.
Responsibilities may include planning, coordination, and supervision of office, field, and laboratory work, as well as the administration, monitoring, and management of subcontracts.
Additionally, candidates may be involved various design and site analysis, impact assessments, and project/construction management for new construction as well as investigation and rehabilitation of existing structures.
The successful candidate will support other GEI offices and projects and assist other GEI teams with the preparation of proposals and cost estimates for engineering services.
REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering, M.S. strongly preferred.
5-10 Years Civil/Geotechnical /Water Resources engineering with progressively responsible positions in government or consulting involving civil and geotechnical engineering analyses, engineering calculations, data management, technical report preparation and design document preparation.
Candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills and should be able to work well by themselves and in a team atmosphere on the preparation of designs, design reports, contract documents and project specifications.
Candidates should be registered as a Professional Engineer in California (or ability to obtain registration by reciprocity and supplement examination within six months).
Knowledge of California water institutions and systems: including the California Department of Water Resources, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, CALFED, Corps of Engineers, State Water Project, and Central Valley Project.
Excellent computer skills with technical analysis software, CAD, MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other civil engineering related applications
Willing to travel on temporary assignments and must be able to perform field investigation activities without restriction.
