Robert Shibatani is an empirical snowmelt hydrologist, international climate change practitioner, and long-time consultant for the California water industry. He is on the Editorial Review Board for the Journal of Water & Climate Change (London, UK), is an IWA Specialist Group Member on the Committee on Climate Change and Managed Adaptations and Water, Energy & Climate Working Group (Den Haag, NL), Task Force Member on Retreating snowpacks and Glaciers (Amsterdam, NL), Task Force Member on Arid Landscapes (Sydney, AU), climate change editorial peer reviewer for IWA World Water Congresses and the International Water Resources Association (Montreal, CAN), Committee member for the 2012 IWA Climate Change World Congress (Dublin, IE), and 2012 World Water Congress (Busan, KOR), is the current Vice Chair of the Environmental & Water Resources Institute/ASCE Norcal Chapter and ongoing participant in the IAHS/IUGG Predictions in Ungaged Basins (2003-2013) Decade. He is the CEO of The SHIBATANI GROUP, Inc., a water resources specialty firm based in Sacramento, California, working with public/private water interests and infrastructure investors in SE Asia, Central Asia, EU, and North America. |
